Car Insurance Sterling (Car Insurance). tinting my 2007 toyota corolla front windows?tinting my 2007 toyota corolla front windows? im aware that at CA the tinting laws of a vehicle is 70% in the front side windows and any on the back and rear windows. I want to tint my 2007 corolla, but I've been informed by a tint specialist that i cant tint my front windows because the glass already is 70% is that true? because i see A LOT of other cars with WAYY darker front windows, mine front windows dont even look dark at all. and if i get caught with tints darker then it should be, how much can i be fined for? Does your car have a light interior? Cars with darker interiors will make their tint appear darker as well. Though you might be able to find someone who's willing to risk tinting you darker, if you get a ticket you'll just have to get it removed, so it's probably not worth the risk. The cops would be messing with you all the time. I'd take the risk if it was a badass car. but in your case it's an uncool corolla. So it wouldn't make it any sleeker. I dont agree w/ leonardo.. We bought a used car that had really dark windows already, and cops dont mess with us at all.. Get someone else to look at it. The police will pull you over left and right without reason. That is because most criminals tint their glass so the police can not see inside for drugs, dope, guns, etc. Tinted windows are POLICE MAGNET. Do without them, or fear being pulled over everywhere you drive. Karis must not live in California nor know about laws. I always use to get pulled over here in CA either for tinted windows or for not having front plates. I just fixed both problems to avoid this. Auto parts : Split Loom Tubing Acura 1995 . Sterling . How do I Replace the Muffler on a 1997 Honda Accord EX Coupe? The 1997 Honda Accord EX Coupe is the sports version of Honda's popular sedan. The muffler on the Accord attaches to a catalytic converter and regulates the noise created by the engine. It was originally mounted to the vehicle with straps and welded to a pipe that extends to the catalytic converter, but it could be held together with pipe clamps if it has been replaced. Welding the muffler back in place takes some skill with a welder and can be dangerous to the inexperienced. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Jack Jack stands Hacksaw Socket wrench Penetrating lubricant Welding equipment Step by Step : 1 Park the Accord on a flat, level surface and set the parking brake. 2 Position the jack under the rear of the vehicle, in the center of the frame. Lift the car and place jack stands under both axles. 3 Cut the pipe from the muffler to the catalytic converter with a hacksaw. Make the cut about 1 1/2 inches from the muffler. If the pipe is held on with pipe clamps, remove the bolts holding the pipe clamps in place with a socket wrench. When they are sufficiently loosened, slide the pipe clamps onto the pipe close to the catalytic converter. 4 Spray the bolts holding the muffler hanger with penetrating lubricant. The muffler gets wet from being exposed, and the bolts have a tendency to rust shut. Let the lubricant soak in, then remove the bolts with a socket wrench. 5 Remove the muffler from the muffler hangers. Handle the muffler carefully as it can be heavy. 6 Place the new muffler in the wire hangers and tighten them down most of the way with a socket wrench. Leave a little bit of slack so the muffler can be positioned against the catalytic converter. 7 Weld the muffler to the catalytic converter pipe. Make sure the weld is strong because the muffler will have to handle a lot of stress. 8 Tighten the muffler hanger bolts completely. Remove the jack stands and lower the Accord. Tips & Warnings The muffler hanger bolts tend to rust together with the nuts, especially in areas with wet weather. If they break when they're being removed, take the bolts to the hardware store and replace them with new bolts that are the same thickness and length. Purchase galvanized bolts to help prevent weather damage.
Sterling . How to Repair an ExhaustDue to environmental and operational factors, automotive exhaust systems degrade over time and may require repair. While some elements of an exhaust are expensive and difficult or impossible to repair on your own, many common exhaust problems can be easily and effectively repaired by a shop or owner. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Comprehensive set of hand tools including wrenches, socket set and extensions Fresh gaskets Exhaust patch or repair kit Replacement part such as muffler, flex-pipe, or hanger WD-40 or similar penetrating oil Step by Step : 1 Raise the vehicle on jack stands, using a hydraulic jack. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery (always a safe precaution when working on a car). 2 Examine the exhaust to identify the failure point once the vehicle is on jack stands. Make sure the exhaust is cold as once an exhaust warms up, it may mask a leak. Use a bottle of soapy water if needed to help find a leak. Spray down a suspected area liberally and watch to see bubbles or other signs of escaping gas. 3 Remove the exhaust manifold if you discover that it is leaking. Spray down the bolts connecting the exhaust manifold with penetrating oil and allow to sit for at least 20 minutes. Remove the bolts connecting the exhaust manifold to the downstream exhaust pipe or catalytic converter. Then remove the bolts connecting the manifold to the engine block. Once removed inspect the manifold for leaks. If there is a crack in the manifold, it should be replaced, or taken to an exhaust shop to be repaired. If the gasket is burnt or torn, then replace with a new gasket and re-install. 4 Patch the muffler with an exhaust patch kit if you discover that the muffler has been damaged. Patch kits typically will be a metal tape with an adhesive backing that can be applied directly over the damaged section. 5 Broken hangers can be repaired if a broken hanger is causing the exhaust to hang or drag. An exhaust shop can repair the broken hanger, or you can use a generic exhaust clamp kit that will clamp around the exhaust pipe and thus support the muffler. Tips & Warnings Certain vehicles may require specialized tools like a crows foot socket wrench, or a stubby wrench to reach certain fasteners. Closely examine the exhaust system to identify the need for any specialized tools before attempting a repair. Once you find the timing marks and know which mark to set your timing at, use a piece of chalk to make that mark stand out. You can also chalk the tip of the pointer to make it more visible. 10. Attached to the side of your distributor is a round gizmo called a vacuum advance. Disconnect the little rubber hose that comes from it, and put a piece of tape on the end of the hose or stick a screw in it to seal it off (see Figure 12-50). Some vehicles have distributors without vacuum advance mechanisms. If you have one of those vehicles, you may need to disconnect a special electrical connector. Consult a service manual or call your dealership if your vehicle has no vacuum advance. 11. Start your engine, making sure that your emergency brake is on and that you're in Park or Neutral. Let the car warm up. 12. 587

If you have no tach/dwell, check the idle speed on the dashboard tachometer. If your car isn't idling at the proper speed, you have to adjust your idle. Adjusting the idle is a simple matter of turning one screw, so don't be dismayed. You can find instructions for doing this in the section called "Adjusting idle speed screws" in Chapter 13. The fact that the light is hooked to your #1 cylinder spark plug means that current passes through the light every time your #1 plug "fires." This makes the light go on and off with a strobe effect. As a result, the timing marks appear to be standing still, although the crankshaft pulley is actually turning rapidly. Fascinating, isn't it? 14. Note to which timing mark the pointer is pointing. On the base of the distributor shaft, below the distributor, is a nut called the distributor hold-down clamp. Use a combination wrench to loosen this nut so that the distributor can turn a bit on the shaft when you grasp the vacuum advance and move it back and forth. If you have trouble reaching the hold-down clamp, a distributor wrench can make it easier (refer to Figure 2-5 in Chapter 2). 2. Move the distributor a little bit on the shaft; then shine your timing light at the timing marks again to see whether you got it right. Sterling . What burns more fuel cars of trucks?
